（德国之声中文网）《新苏黎世报》发表分析文章写道，高端芯片是人工智能以及尖端军事技术的基础，因此一直以来都是中美博弈中的关键战场。多年来，华盛顿通过出口管制和制裁手段，试图切断中国获取高端芯片的途径。但与此同时，中国也加快了芯片技术的自主研发，希望摆脱在这一领域对西方的高度依赖。这篇题为《中国可能在核心技术领域取得了突破》的分析文章写道：
“中国明显落后于西方的技术领域已经所剩无几，而芯片制造设备就是其中之一。在西方，当前最先进的人工智能芯片都是通过极紫外光刻机（EUV）技术生产的。这是一种使用超短波长光线的光刻技术，能够制造出极其细微的结构，从而使高性能芯片的制造成为可能。在全球范围内，只有荷兰的阿斯麦（ASML）能够生产出这样的高端芯片制造设备。也正因为如此，华盛顿从一开始就一直在阻挠北京获得阿斯麦的高端设备。
迄今为止，中国公司虽然也能利用相对落后的技术生产出用于人工智能的芯片，但成本相对更高。而西方专家普遍认为，只要中国工程师无法自行研发出EUV技术，中国就无法弥补在这一领域同西方的差距，甚至这一差距可能会越来越大。
然而，路透社的一则调查新闻则显示，中国在EUV技术研发方面的进展，显然已经远远超出西方专家的预期。据称，今年年初，中国一个工程师团队已经在深圳的一个厂区内成功制造出了一台EUV设备原型机。 ”
"中国的曼哈顿计划”
《新苏黎世报》援引路透社的消息报道称，该EUV项目被内部人士称为“中国的曼哈顿计划”，足以显示该项目的保密程度之高以及投入之巨大。而研发速度之所以如此惊人，则要归功于一些高薪聘请来的前阿斯麦工程师：
“中国是否以及何时能将自主研发的EUV技术推向市场，目前尚无法断言。与体量相当于一辆长途巴士的阿斯麦设备相比，深圳原型机的体积要大得多，需要占据整整一座厂房。此外，还有一些关键部件，如高精度镜片也还未能达到质量要求。
尽管中国工程师们还需要解决一系列技术问题，但可以肯定的是：中美博弈中，中国最大的技术短板，将会提前得到解决。届时为技术落后而担心烦恼的，就不会再是中国了。”
“EUV技术是欧洲的重要筹码”
《法兰克福汇报》发表评论称，来自德国的蔡司（Zeiss）、通快（Trumpf）以及荷兰的阿斯麦（ASML）通过近20年的携手研发，创造了全世界独一无二的EUV光刻机技术。全球80%以上的微芯片，都是通过蔡司的光学设备对通快公司的激光进行精准调控，然后在阿斯麦的设备中曝光晶圆而制造出来的：
”一方面，美国想方设法要阻止中国获得最新款的EUV设备，另一方面，中国又在不惜代价研发自己的光刻设备，这足以充分说明EUV技术是多么的出类拔萃。而上述两种因素也在相互发挥作用：美国越是要极力封锁中国获取相关技术的渠道，中国要自行掌握高端芯片生产技术的欲望也就更加强烈。中国为了获取相关技术，可谓无所不用其极：间谍、高薪挖走该领域的科学家和工程师、甚至会为相关人士提供假证件。
三个欧洲合作伙伴被推上了中美博弈的风口浪尖，而中美争夺的正是未来全球技术的主导地位。因为在可预见的未来，没有任何技术能够制造出比蔡司、通快和阿斯麦更为先进的微芯片设备。正因为如此，这三家企业应不惜一切代价保持甚至扩大自身的技术优势，例如将下一代最新技术尽快产业化。这不仅仅是在捍卫上述企业自身的未来，同时也为欧洲提供了讨价还价的重要筹码，使‘老大陆’不至于被技术的发展远远抛在后面。”

“粤车南下”的车辆中电动车占大多数，香港业界加装充电设施。
据《星岛日报》报道，香港运输及物流局局长陈美宝星期二（12月23日）说，获批“粤车南下”的车辆中电动车占大多数。过去数月，香港已积极准备，鼓励商场、酒店和停车场增设充电设施。
陈美宝说，目前全香港共有900个充电设施，其中40个是中国国标制式，充电10分钟即可将电量提升至60%，足以让粤车经港珠澳大桥返回珠海。
她指出，业界正加快加装充电设施，相信部分大陆车主会自备转接插头，以适应不同充电制式。中华电力也表示，未来将引入配备多种插头线的充电设备，以满足不同车辆同时充电需求，并可根据需要增加数量。
陈美宝说，署方已与高德和百度两家电子地图公司沟通，鼓励在导航系统中加入香港道路资讯，如停车位及路况等。粤车进入香港后，导航系统将自动切换至香港模式。
香港警方也已做好准备，若粤车在港发生事故，将迅速处理。香港相关部门已与广东省方面做好对接，包括掌握司机资料等，以便进行追踪及跟进。
另外，香港汽车高级驾驶协会主席江日雄在电台节目上说，大陆靠右行驶，驾驶者未必熟悉香港交通，易产生危险，建议香港司机看到粤车保持适当安全距离。
据新华社报道，“粤车南下”是中国推进粤港澳大湾区建设的重要举措，也是继“澳车北上”“港车北上”之后的又一项利好政策。获批并成功预约的广东私家车，星期二起可经港珠澳大桥珠海公路口岸直达香港市区。
“粤车南下”首批开放广州、珠海、江门、中山四市，半年后推广至广东全省其他地市。初步阶段每日配额100辆，每次留港最多三天。
美国决定禁止涉及中国大疆创新以及其他外国无人机新机型的批准事宜后，中国官方敦促美国撤销有关措施。
中国商务部星期二（12月23日）在官网以答记者问形式说，美国以国家安全为由，将所有外国生产的无人机系统及其关键零部件等列入“不可信供应商清单”，中国对此坚决反对。
中国商务部新闻发言人说：“中方敦促美方停止错误做法，立即撤销有关措施。若美方继续一意孤行，中方将坚决采取必要措施，坚定维护中国企业的正当权益。”
美国联邦通信委员会星期一（22日）公布，将大疆创新、道通智能，以及所有外国制造的无人机和零部件，列入对美国国家安全构成不可接受风险的企业名单，并将禁止涉及新型无人机进口或在美国销售的批准事宜。
针对大疆被列入对美国家安全构成不可接受风险的管制清单，禁止批准大疆新型无人机对美出口或在美销售，中国外交部星期二回应时强调，中国坚决反对美国泛化国家安全概念，划设歧视性清单无理打压中国企业。“美方应纠正错误做法，为中国企业经营提供公平、公正、非歧视的环境。”

法新社日内瓦消息，世界贸易组织（WTO）周二12月23日宣布，中国已就印度针对光伏（太阳能）产品及信息技术（IT）产品贸易采取的某些措施，正式向世贸组织提起争端解决请求。
据世贸组织称，北京方面对印度给予光伏行业的某些补贴，以及印度对手机、平板显示器制造设备等产品征收的关税提出异议。
世贸组织详细说明道：“中方明确指出，涉案措施包括印度的关税待遇以及其他某些措施。中方认为，这些措施以使用其本国产品为前提，构成了对中国进口产品的歧视。”
在周二提交给世贸组织成员的磋商请求中，中国主张这些措施违反了1994年《关税与贸易总协定》（GATT）、《补贴与反补贴措施协议》以及《与贸易有关的投资措施协议》中的多项条款。
法新社指出，提起磋商请求是世贸组织争端解决程序的正式起点。磋商为当事方提供了讨论问题并寻求解决方案的机会，而无需直接进入司法程序。如果在60天后磋商仍未能解决争端，起诉方可要求世贸组织设立专家组进行审理。
中印在光伏（太阳能）领域的贸易纠纷并非一朝一夕，而是随着印度近年来大力推动“能源转型”和“本土制造”而逐渐升温。
中国目前拥有全球最完整、成本最低的光伏供应链（占据全球约80%的产能）。印度为了实现能源独立和推动“自给自足的印度”（Atmanirbhar Bharat）政策，试图通过行政手段摆脱对中国产品的依赖。
据了解，中国在诉状中提到的“歧视性措施”，主要集中在以下几点：
基本关税 (BCD)：2022年4月起，印度对进口太阳能组件征收40%的关税，对太阳能电池征收25%的关税。这直接推高了中国产品进入印度的成本。
ALMM清单（非关税壁垒）：印度设立了“型号和制造商批准清单”（ALMM）。只有进入该清单的厂家才能参与政府补贴项目。过去几年，中国企业很难进入该清单，这被视为一种变相的准入限制。
生产挂钩激励计划 (PLI)： 印度政府拿出数十亿美元补贴其国内企业（如信实工业、阿达尼等），鼓励它们在本土建立垂直一体化的光伏工厂。
这次诉讼标志着中印贸易摩擦从双边博弈正式上升到了多边司法程序。虽然世贸的裁决通常需要数年时间，但这表明中国开始利用规则反击印度近年来日趋严重的贸易保护主义。

总部位于亚特兰大的玩具及婴儿用品制造商Kids2就是其中之一。该公司首席财务官马克·明特曼（Mark Mintman）将其描述为一种必要的“成本回收行动”。Kids2约95%的产品在中国生产，面对沉重的关税压力，他在今年9月的一次银行业会议上得知，资本市场已经催生出一种针对潜在退款的二级交易。
华尔街的“关税对赌”模式

这种模式类似于法律诉讼和解金或彩票年金的提前变现。Kids2最终以“23美分换1美元”的价格出售了其根据《国际紧急经济权力法》（IEEPA）支付的关税退款权。而针对芬太尼走私的紧急关税，由于市场普遍预期其更难被法院推翻，其退款权仅卖出了“9美分换1美元”的极低折扣。通过这笔交易，Kids2拿到了200万美元的即时现金，尽管其此前向海关支付的总额已高达 1500 万美元。

2025年4月2日｜宣布“对等关税”：特朗普4月2日在白宫玫瑰花园举行“让美国再次富有”（Make America Wealthy Again）记者会，宣布“对等关税”措施。美国对大多数国家征收10％的基准关税，但针对特定国家征收更高税额。中国、欧盟和越南分别面临34%、20%和46%的关税； 日本、韩国、印度、柬埔寨和台湾，分别受到24%、25%、26%、49%和32%进口关税的打击。
2025年4月9日｜暂缓关税90日 中国除外：特朗普4月9日在大规模“对等关税”上路不到24小时后出现政策大转弯，宣布暂缓征收“对等关税”90天，在此期间，税率将统一降至10%的基准关税。但中国被排除在暂缓名单之外，不仅如此，还将对中国的关税加码至145%，其中包含了美国此前指控中国打击芬太尼不力而征收的20％关税。
2025年5月4日 | 对美国境外制作的电影征收100%关税：特朗普5月4日以“国安威胁”为由，宣布将对非美国制作的电影征收100％关税，理由是要“拯救美国电影业”。

2025年5月13日｜美大幅下调中国“小包裹”关税：白宫5月13发布行政命令，将从5月14日起将对中国低价值货物（不超过800美元）征收的“最低限度”关税从120%下调至54%，原计划的200美元固定费用征税方案被搁置，现行的100美元固定费用将继续执行。
5月23日 对阵欧盟：特朗普威胁自6月1日起对欧盟商品加征50%的统一关税。他同时警告苹果公司，若其在美国销售的手机是在海外生产的，将面临25%的关税。两天后，特朗普收回了对欧盟加征50%关税的威胁，他表示，与欧委会主席冯德莱恩通电话后，同意将美国和欧盟的谈判期限延长至7月9日。
5月28日 美国法院裁定特朗普对等关税“越权”：美国联邦国际贸易法庭裁定，特朗普今年4月2日对多国征收的对等关税，以及早前向中国、加拿大和墨西哥加征的报复性关税都属于“非法”。判决认定，特朗普征收全球关税的行为超出了《国际经济紧急权力法》（IEEPA）赋予总统的权限。美政府表示将对该裁决提出上诉。
5月29日 美国上诉法院暂准特朗普关税恢复执行：美国联邦上诉法院一天后推翻该判决，让特朗普的关税政策得以持续实施。上诉法院指出，为了审理特朗普政府的上诉，将先暂缓此前法院的裁决，并命令原告及特朗普政府分别在6月5日和6月9日前提交回应文件。
5月30日 特朗普全面上调钢铝关税：美国总统特朗普宣布将对全球钢铁和铝产品的进口关税提高至50%。中国是美国的第三大铝供应国。他指责中国未按约降低关税，取消针对稀土等产品的贸易限制。他说：“中国完全违反了与我们达成的协议。不能再做好好先生了！”
6月10日 美中谈判双方宣布原则上达成贸易框架协议：中国和美国官员在英国伦敦举行贸易谈判，经过两天的会议，6月10日，双方宣布原则上已达成贸易框架协议，以落实5月在瑞士日内瓦的共识、还有两国领袖上周的通话内容。特朗普在社交媒体Truth Social上表示，按照美中达成的新的贸易协议，美国将从中国获得稀土磁体。他还表示，将允许中国学生在协议达成后继续留在美国大学学习。法律博弈与不确定的胜率
特朗普总统曾公开警告，如果关税被最高法院推翻，将引发一场“经济灾难”。目前尚不清楚最高法院何时做出裁决，但如果政府败诉，涉及的退款总额可能超过1000亿美元。白宫官员在回复媒体询问时重申，对总统合法使用关税权力的法律依据充满信心。

（德国之声中文网）据路透社报道，美国智库荣鼎咨询（Rhodium Group）周一（12月22日）发布报告指出，2025年中国经济增长率预计在2.5%至3%之间，主要原因在于下半年固定资产投资出现大幅下滑。
对中国GDP增长做出合理的预测至关重要
相比之下，中国政府预计将在明年3月的会议上宣布，已实现“约5%”的官方经济增长目标。鉴于两者之间数据差值，报告指出，对中国经济增长做出合理预测的数值对中外企业以及中国民众自身都显得尤为重要。
官方宣传的中国经济增长5%，和比如实际增长的2%之间的差距，相当于国内经济活动少了约5000亿美元的需求。而全球企业、投资者都需要准确的数字来制定销售预测、投入品供应计划和竞争策略；中国民众自身也需要基于可靠预测的政策。超过6亿中国人年收入不足2000美元。如果北京无法正视宏观经济放缓的程度，就无法正确评估他们的需求。
中国国家统计局尚未回应置评请求。
报告指官方数据内在矛盾
报告作者指出，官方数据本身存在矛盾：一方面，数据显示固定资产投资下降；但另一方面官方统计却显示资本形成仍对国内生产总值（GDP）作出正向贡献。报告写道：“对中国2025年经济增长的解读，关键取决于下半年投资仅仅是回落，还是已经出现崩塌。”
报告进一步指出：“历史上从未有经济体在连续十个季度陷入持续通缩的情况下，仍实现5%的实际GDP增长。我们不认为中国会成为第一个例外。”
报告称，用于道路、铁路、住房和工厂建设的固定资产投资在年初表现强劲，第一季度增长4.2%，但到6月已转为负增长，并在10月暴跌12.2%。根据最新官方数据，今年1月至11月固定资产投资同比下降2.6%，其中房地产投资大幅下滑15.9%是主要拖累因素。
已多次发布远低于官方预测的经济增长数据
总部位于纽约的荣鼎咨询是一家盈利性智库。其已多次做出与中国政府公布的官方经济数据相差甚远的预测。
比如2024年中国官方宣称经济增长5%，但据荣鼎估算，中国2024年GDP真实增长“温和改善至”2.4%到2.8%之间。
2023年，中国政府公布的经济成长为5.2%，荣鼎资讯分析师洛根·赖特（Logan Wright）认为GDP数据“明显夸大”，真实经济增长应只在1.5%左右。
而对于2026年，荣鼎智库预计中国经济增长仅为1%至2.5%，也明显低于国际货币基金组织（IMF）此前预测的4.5%。该智库表示：“对中国经济的误判已经持续太久了，而且始终朝着高估的方向偏离。”

台湾民调机构的调查结果显示，台湾民众对总统赖清德的满意度持续好转，但过半数受访者不同意执政的民进党是清廉的政党。
亲绿的台湾民意基金会星期二（12月23日）在官网公布的民调显示，在赖清德声望方面，满意度增加5.5个百分点，从11月的37.9%升至12月的43.4%，10月的满意度为34.9%。
在行政院长卓荣泰内阁施政表现方面，满意度在9月跌至31.0%后便一直上升，到了12月已升至44.3%。
台湾《联合报》报道，基金会董事长游盈隆分析，赖清德声望回温有两个重要背景：经过四个月，大罢免风暴已渐平息；另外，行政与立法两权冲突再起，绿营传统支持者重新回流、归队。
将接任内政部中选会主委的游盈隆也说，赖清德已陷入执政困境一连六个月，还没能走出来。大罢免、大失败无疑是造成此一现象的单一最重要因素。当时间慢慢过去，加上赖清德在过去一个月强势出击，民意支持度也跟着明显爬升。但何时能够完全脱离执政困境？从目前各种迹象看来，仍是一个问号。
另一方面，民调也显示，被问到是否同意民进党是清廉的政党时，不同意者达到59.1%，同意者为34.7%，不知道为1.4%，没意见为4.7%。
这项民调是在12月15日至17日展开，对象是以全台的范围的20岁以上成年人，有效样本1077人，抽样误差在95%信心水准下约正负2.99个百分点。

The climbdown follows months of protests by farmers and concern from some Labour backbenchers.
At last year's Budget, ministers said they would start imposing a 20% tax on inherited agricultural assets worth more than £1m from April 2026.
Environment Secretary Emma Reynolds said: "We have listened closely to farmers across the country and we are making changes today to protect more ordinary family farms."
"It's only right that larger estates contribute more, while we back the farms and trading businesses that are the backbone of Britain's rural communities."
Head of the National Farmers' Union Tom Bradshaw welcomed the change, telling BBC Radio 5 Live it "takes out many family farms from the eye of pernicious storm".
Gavin Lane, President of the Country Land and Business Association, said: "The government deserves credit for recognising the flaws in the original policy and changing course.
"However, this announcement only limits the damage - it doesn't eradicate it entirely.
"Many family businesses will own enough expensive machinery and land to be valued above the threshold, yet still operate on such narrow profit margins that this tax burden remains unaffordable."
In the 14 months since the initial proposal was announced, there have been regular protests by farmers outside Parliament.
Some Labour MPs in rural areas have also expressed concern. At a recent parliamentary vote on the plan, a dozen backbenchers abstained and one, Markus Campbell-Savours, voted against.
Campbell-Savours was subsequently suspended for voting against the government, meaning he now sits as an independent MP.
Russia launched a "massive" attack on several Ukrainian cities overnight on Monday, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, a day after he warned of strikes over the Christmas period.
At least three people were killed, according to Ukrainian officials, including a four-year-old child, while energy infrastructure was also targeted, leaving several regions without power.
Russia launched more than 600 drones and 30 missiles, according to Ukraine.
Zelensky said "people simply want to be with their families, at home, and safe" in the run-up to Christmas, and said the strikes sent "an extremely clear signal about Russia's priorities" despite ongoing peace talks.
He added: "Putin still cannot accept that he must stop killing. And that means that the world is not putting enough pressure on Russia."
Zelensky had previously warned it was in the Kremlin's "nature" to "carry out massive attacks" during the festive period.
Confirming a child's death in the central Zhytomyr region, local official Vitaly Bunechko said: "She was taken to hospital, doctors fought for her life but could not save her in the end." Five others were injured in the strike, he added.
Meanwhile, a 76-year-old woman was killed and three people injured when a house in the Kyiv region was struck, according to Ukraine's state emergencies service.
An attack in Khmelnytskyy, western Ukraine, killed a 72-year-old, regional administration head Serhiy Tyurin said.
Polish fighter jets were scrambled in response to missiles and drones targeting west Ukraine.
The Russian defence ministry said it had targeted energy facilities and other transport infrastructure, according to Russian state news agency Tass.

A multi-billion dollar takeover fight is being played out in Hollywood - and Premier League bosses will be watching on closely.
Netflix and Paramount Skydance are trying to buy Warner Bros Discovery, and with it titles such as Harry Potter, Barbie and Game of Thrones.
Buried within Warner Bros Discovery is TNT Sports, which provides an intriguing subplot in an acrimonious battle for some of the world's top TV shows and movies.
Whoever emerges victorious from the takeover tug-of-war will directly affect the future of sporting rights in the UK.
There is a huge amount of uncertainty about what this means for TNT Sports, the Premier League and subscribers.
Since 2012 TNT Sports, or BT Sport as it was back then, has been an aggressive player in the rights market.
It owns the Saturday lunchtime Premier League package and the FA Cup in the UK.
Rugby union, motorsport and cycling are among its other key properties, but football has been key to subscriptions.
TNT Sports helped drive up the value of Champions League TV rights, though it has lost them to Paramount from 2027.
The channel is now a joint venture between Warner Bros Discovery and BT, created in 2022, which also holds rights to the Olympics.
Strong and healthy competition keeps the value of sports rights high, and TNT has been key to that in recent years in the UK.
"TNT Sports is wrapped in uncertainty," Francois Godard, a media and telecoms analyst at Enders Analysis, told BBC Sport.
"Who will own Warner Bros? And who will own TNT Sports?"
BT Group still hold 50% at present. But it is working on a deal to sell its remaining share to Warner Bros Discovery. That, at least, would make a future sale more straightforward.
In that scenario, one possibility would be that TNT Sports is bought by or merged into another company as part of any takeover process.
And this is where the Netflix intrigue comes to the fore.

All the indications would suggest that may well be the case, although there is scepticism of just how much ambition its executives hold here.
Netflix has previously dipped its toe in, with 'entertainment' boxing fights such as Mike Tyson v Jake Paul.
It was said to be in the running for the Champions League rights won by Paramount.
Netflix has secured the rights to the 2027 and 2031 Women's World Cups in the USA - the first time the company had bought the rights to a sports competition in full.
Fifa president Gianni Infantino hailed Netflix as "a marquee brand and Fifa's new long-term partner".
That was underlined on Wednesday when Fifa announced it had partnered with Netflix to produce the video game for the 2026 World Cup.
Netflix also signed up Gary Lineker's The Rest is Football podcast for next year's men's World Cup.
A set round of Premier League matches, like Amazon Prime used to have, would be more in keeping with the Netflix business model. Up until now at least.
Pescatore believes TNT Sports could provide "fast-track access" into the competitive sports rights arena in the UK.
"Entertainment has served a purpose for Netflix up until now, but they realise the whole notion of live programming drives viewers to tune in to that moment," he said.
However Godard suggested: "If TNT Sports UK is part of it, they [Netflix] haven't thought very much about it yet."
Warner Bros Discovery is in the process of splitting the company into two parts.
Netflix recently agreed to buy the streaming and studios parts of the business, which TNT Sports in the UK is part of.
However, TNT Sports' US business is not in the deal, creating uncertainty about Netflix's intentions.
The press release to announce the Netflix deal made no mention of TNT Sports. All the talk was of TV behemoth HBO and the cinematic arm.
When BBC Sport spoke to Warner Bros Discovery, it would make no comment on the future of TNT Sports or confirm its role in the deal.
Paramount Skydance has tried to muscle in by making a higher offer direct to Warner Bros Discovery shareholders.
The takeover would be more straightforward because the offer is for the whole of the business.
But on Wednesday Warner Bros Discovery told its shareholders to reject Paramount Skydance's $108.4bn (£80.8bn) bid.
Paramount appears the more obvious bedfellow for TNT Sports.
It has already shown clear intent in the sports rights market, including football and UFC, and has Champions League rights in the US under its CBS brand. From 2027 it will own the competition in the UK, too.
Pescator says "there's been an open chequebook" at Paramount, which paid a premium for Champions League rights at more than £1bn across four years.
That kind of ambition would grab the attention of rights holders.

Sky Sports, TNT Sports, Premier Sports, Disney+ and DAZN are already players in the UK subscription market.

Godard says "nobody has the economics" to challenge Sky Sports at present.
"I'm sure the Premier League would hope that the new layout of ownership will increase the appetite," Godard said.
The Premier League rights in the US, held by NBC, expire in 2028. This could provide an early indication of the intentions of Netflix and Paramount.
Pescatore suggests interest from Disney+ cannot be ruled out.
Disney+ already has the rights to the Women's Champions League across the whole of Europe and the Saturday night La Liga game in the UK.
Or could something completely different be the future?
One suggestion is the Premier League could choose to launch its own direct-to-consumer channel, dubbed "Premflix", to distribute some of the games itself.
What is clear is that viewers can expect more changes to how they watch sport.

Russia launched a "massive" attack on several Ukrainian cities overnight on Monday, President Volodymyr Zelensky has said, a day after he warned of strikes over the Christmas period.
At least three people were killed, according to Ukrainian officials, including a four-year-old child, while energy infrastructure was also targeted, leaving several regions without power.

Zelensky said "people simply want to be with their families, at home, and safe" in the run-up to Christmas, and said the strikes sent "an extremely clear signal about Russia's priorities" despite ongoing peace talks.
He added: "Putin still cannot accept that he must stop killing. And that means that the world is not putting enough pressure on Russia."
Zelensky had previously warned it was in the Kremlin's "nature" to "carry out massive attacks" during the festive period.
Confirming a child's death in the central Zhytomyr region, local official Vitaly Bunechko said: "She was taken to hospital, doctors fought for her life but could not save her in the end." Five others were injured in the strike, he added.

ReutersDonald Trump has said the US will keep or sell the crude oil contained on tankers it has seized off the coast of Venezuela, as well as the vessels themselves.
The US president's comments came as Washington continues to pressure the South American country's leader Nicolas Maduro to stand down.
Speaking to reporters in Florida on Monday, Trump said of the oil "we're going to keep it", adding: "Maybe we will sell it, maybe we will keep it. Maybe we'll use it in the Strategic Reserves. We're keeping the ships also."
The Trump administration has accused Venezuela of using oil revenues to fund drug-related crime, while Caracas has condemned the seizures as "piracy."
The US military has seized two oil tankers this month, including one on Saturday.
Trump issued his latest warning as the US Coast Guard continued to pursue a third oil tanker, which authorities described as part of a Venezuelan "dark fleet" used to evade US sanctions.
"It's moving along, and we'll end up getting it," Trump said.
Separately on Monday, the US military said it carried out a strike on what it said was a suspected trafficking vessel in international waters in the eastern Pacific. US Southern Command said one person was killed.

The US has been building up its military presence in the Pacific and Caribbean Seas and has carried out deadly strikes on alleged Venezuelan drug-smuggling boats, killing around 100 people.
It has provided no public evidence that these vessels were carrying drugs and the military has come under increasing scrutiny from Congress over the strikes.
Speaking on Monday, Trump repeated that the US intends to strike targets on land too.
He said: "We'll be starting the same programme on land. If they want to come by land, they're going to end up having a big problem. They're going to get blown to pieces, because we don't want our people poisoned."

The legislation, passed by 22 votes to 10, expands temporary powers introduced during the Gaza war to shutter outlets seen as a threat to national security.
