Hundreds of people have been killed and millions displaced as extreme weather has ravaged Southeast Asia this month. Indonesia’s heavy rain was linked to two tropical cyclones.

A helicopter and a fighter jet went down in separate incidents while operating from a U.S. aircraft carrier on Sunday, the Navy said. The crews were rescued.

Concern is increasing throughout Southeast Asia as U.S. officials, intent on slowing China, have yet to say how they will define the origin country of imports.
